Prayers for the Sick

Sunday morning Celebration in St Joseph's Birtley

Every Sunday there will be a Service of The Word, Prayer and Music, including Children's Liturgy, at 10.00am in St Joseph's Church. After the service the celebration will continue over tea and coffee in the Parish Centre.

Reporting of Sick and those Recently Dead

Contact Forms

There are now two contact forms to report sick and those recently dead which will allow us to easily collect information and make it known through the website and/or the newsletter about those who need our prayers as a community at this time.

Use the Sick Form to report sick and the RIP Form to report those who have recently died.

Northern Cross

THE Northern Cross is the independent newspaper for people of the Christian faith in North East England, in particular the Catholic diocese of Hexham and Newcastle. It is sold in more than 150 parishes on the first Sunday of the month.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and a charitable trust. We rely entirely on revenue from newspaper sales, annual subscriptions and advertising to continue publishing.

You can buy a copy at your local church, or Pauline Books, Newcastle. Or you can take out an annual online subscription, at £20, or a print subscription - where the Northern Cross is delivered direct to your door, at £36 (this includes post and packing) for a year.

You can pay by bank transfer - please email for the details. Please use your name as a reference - this allows us to verify your payment.
